Crown Prince and Crown Princess host SPEA Summer reception at the Royal Palace
Belgrade, 25 June 2014 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted a Serbian Private Equity Association (SPEA) Summer reception at the Royal Palace today.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II welcomed guests and said: “Last year at this reception we formed the Royal Council for Entrepreneurship, which already had several projects and we are looking forward to the ones yet to come. One is already next week – Start Tel Aviv and I am very eager to find out which startup will be the winner and get the opportunity to go to Tel Aviv and attend the greatest innovation festival in the world. My Foundation for education is highly supporting technological entrepreneurship and this event is part of that important path we have taken. Through entrepreneurship, Serbia can gain ground on innovation, economic growth, productivity and most of all, create new jobs. With the capability of our people, the resources of the country, the strategic location and the favourable tax environment, Serbia can be the startup hub for the region.”
Last year, the Royal Council for Entrepreneurship was founded under auspices of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II at a similar event held at the White Palace. The founding members of the Council are the Serbian Private Equity Association (SPEA), the Serbian Business Angels Network (SBAN), the Innovation Fund, the Business Technology Incubator of the Technical Faculties of Belgrade (BITF), Serbian Venture Network (SeVeN - Belgrade Venture Forum), SEE ICT and Startup Weekend Belgrade.
