Huge interest in the exhibition “Witnesses of the Epoch and freedom fighters” at the Royal Compound
Belgrade, 16 May 2015 – The Royal Compound in Dedinje took part this year once again in the “Museum nights”, presenting an exclusive exhibition “Witnesses of the Epoch and freedom fighters”. Huge queues were formed in front of the gate at Baje Pivljanina Street one hour before opening which indicated great interest for this exhibition. Organizers and guides were not surprised because every year the Royal Compound is among the most visited spots at the “Museum nights”.
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine have visited the exhibition during the night, talked with visitors and made several photos with them. Several thousand visitors had a chance to view photographs about the life at the Royal Palace before and after the World War II. Photographs of King Alexander I, King Peter II, Tito, Milosevic, but also of HRH Crown Prince Alexander are displayed at the exact spots they were taken.
Beside this interesting exhibition, visitors had an opportunity to learn more about life and work of General Dragoljub Mihailovic through a very interesting exhibition “General Mihailovic – first freedom fighter in occupied Europe”. Author of both exhibitions was Mr Dusan Babac, member of the Privy Council.
We thank all the visitors for their trust, and we are very happy that the Royal Compound in Dedinje is attracting so many visitors year after year.
