Crown Prince Alexander opens “King’s Cup” tournament in Velika Plana

Belgrade, 22 August 2015 - Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited today the Municipality of Velika Plana. The Royal Couple attended the official opening of the “King’s Cup” two day Football Tournament at “Morava" Stadium, organized by Kingdom of Serbia Association whose patron is Crown Prince Alexander and Football Club “Velika Plana”.

The Royal Couple were warmly welcomed by a great number of citizens and members of Kingdom of Serbia Association in front of the Municipality building. Crown Prince and Crown Princess have met with Mayor of Velika Plana Mr Dejan Sulkic at this cabinet, and discussed the situation in this Municipality and ways how the Royal Family can help solve them and support citizens of this Municipality.

The Royal Couple took a walk through the city and spoke with numerous citizens. After that they have visited premises of Kingdom of Serbia Association in Velika Plana.

The Royal Couple attended the official opening of the “King’s Cup” Football Tournament at the “Morava” Stadium. The tournament gathered over 70 teams with players born from 2003 to 2007. After the parade of the teams, and National Anthem, Crown Prince Alexander addressed the participants:

“My wife Crown Princess Katherine and I are very happy to be with you here today. We are especially happy that the reason for our visit is such a nice sports event. Sport is very important for social and cultural development of every community. I congratulate Kingdom of Serbia Association and Football Club “Velika Plana” for organizing this tournament that has gathered a great number of wonderful young people! Talented and diligent young people are future of our sport and our country!” emphasized the Crown Prince.

After the official opening, the Crown Prince was awarded with a special “King’s Cup” Trophy and then the Royal Couple attended the opening game, and after that visited Radovanovic Winery in Krnjevo and ethno village “Moravski konaci” near Velika Plana.
