На данашњи дан, пре 121 године, у Ивањици је рођен пуковник Југословенске Краљевске Војске Драгољуб Михаиловић. Када су Немци окупирали Југославију у априлу 1941, пуковник се, као одани ројалиста, повукао у планине јужно од Београда и тамо организовао први герилски покрет отпора, Југословенску Војску у Отаџбини, познату под народним називом Четници. Касније је унапређен у чин генерала и именован за министра војске у влади Краљевине Југославије. За време окупације Југославије од стране сила Осовине, избио је крвави грађански рат између два супарничка покрета отпора.
Today 121 years ago Royal Yugoslav Army Colonel Dragolub Mihailovic was born in Ivanjica Serbia. The Colonel was a staunch royalist, he retreated to the mountains near Belgrade when the Germans overran Yugoslavia in April 1941 and there he organised the first guerrilla resistance known as the Chetnik Detachments of the Yugoslav Army. Later he was promoted to General Mihailovic, and then appointed Minister of Defence in the government of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. During the occupation of the various parts of Yugoslavia by the Axis, a bitter civil war ensued between two rival resistance entities.
