LAV-C2



Lockheed Martin improves LAV-25 vehicles with new communication and digital battlefield management systems that improve voice and data connectivity. The result is the Light Armored Vehicle-Command and Control. With over 50 on order, LAV-C2 will be a mobile command center for U.S. Marines who need fully informed intelligence, which helps fire support operations and maneuvers during amphibious and land missions.

An all-terrain, all-weather, amphibious vehicle with night capabilities, LAV-C2 features a Type I raised roof chassis outfitted with communication stations. Difficult terrain and threats, such as ambushes and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) can make ground-based transportation to and from the frontline a dangerous challenge. While helicopters can easily bypass those problems, they often present logistical challenges of their own and can subject flight crews to different types of threats. Additionally, they are expensive to operate and the supply of available helicopters cannot always meet the demand for their diverse operational services.

To help overcome these challenges, DARPA unveiled the Transformer (TX) program in 2009. Transformer aimed to develop and demonstrate a prototype system that could provide flexible, terrain-independent transportation for logistics, personnel transport and tactical support missions for small ground units. In 2013, DARPA selected the Aerial Reconfigurable Embedded System (ARES) design concept to move forward.

Dual Mode Laser Guided Bomb (DMLGB)



The Lockheed Martin Dual Mode Laser Guided Bomb (DMLGB) is in service with the U.S. Navy. DMLGB uses the existing PavewayTM II Laser Guided Bomb (LGB) infrastructure and upgrades the existing Computer Control Group (CCG) system with an Inertial Navigation System/Global Positioning System (INS/GPS)―an all-weather guidance system that provides dual-mode guidance capability. With the combination of the upgraded INS/GPS system, existing semi-active laser (SAL) seeker and anti-jam technology, the DMLGB minimizes collateral damage and improves mission effectiveness by providing precision strike capabilities in all-weather at extended standoff ranges. The DMLGB is effective against fixed, relocatable and moving targets.

Paveway II Plus GBU-16 kits produced by Lockheed Martin are used on 1,000-lb bombs, while GBU-10 and GBU-12 kits are used on 2,000-lb and 500-lb bombs, respectively. Over 7,000 kits have been manufactured. Lockheed Martin kits are capable of employment by F/A-18, F-16, F-15, F-117 and other aircraft currently configured to carry and release LGBs. The SAL seeker technology and upgraded INS/GPS guidance system are mature, affordable and proven in combat.

THAAD



The THAAD system is fully integrated and includes five major components: launchers, interceptors, a radar, THAAD fire control and communications (TFCC) units, and THAAD-specific support equipment.

Two Batteries of THAAD soldiers are certified on the THAAD system and are supporting continued testing of the system.
THAAD is in production and delivering significant capability to the Warfighter. The system has a track record of 100% mission success in flight testing.
THAAD is interoperable with other BMDS elements and can accept cues from Aegis, satellites and other external sensors, as well as work in concert with the Patriot/PAC-3.
The first THAAD Warfighter Battery was activated in May of 2008, with the second THAAD Warfighter Battery Activation following in October of 2009.

F-22 Raptor



This is the era of the F-22 Raptor – the world’s premier 5th Generation fighter.

The F-22 is the only fighter capable of simultaneously conducting air-to-air and air-to-ground combat missions with near impunity. This is accomplished with a never-before-seen standard of survivability even in the face of sophisticated airborne and ground-based threats.

In addition to being America’s premier air-superiority fighter, the F-22 evolved from its original concept to become a lethal, survivable and flexible multimission fighter. By taking advantage of emerging technologies, the F-22 has emerged as a superior platform for many diverse missions including intelligence gathering, surveillance, reconnaissance and electronic attack.

The Raptor is operational today, protecting our homeland and combat ready for worldwide deployment. F-22s are already assigned to multiple bases across the country. Currently, there are:

Two squadrons of F-22s assigned to Air Combat Command’s 1st Fighter Wing at Langley AFB, Va.
Two squadrons assigned to the 3rd Wing at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska
One squadron at 49th Fighter Wing at Holloman AFB, N. M.
A Virginia Air National Guard associate squadron at Langley AFB
One Air Force Reserve Command associate squadron at both Elmendorf and Holloman
F-22 Raptors assigned to the Hawaii Air National Guard, along with an active-duty associate unit at Hickam AFB, Hawaii.

Training for Raptor pilots and maintainers takes place at Tyndall AFB, Fla., flight testing is conducted at Edwards AFB, Calif., and operational testing and tactics development is performed at Nellis AFB, Nev.

The F-22 Fleet is Complete

The final F-22 Raptor was delivered to the U.S. Air Force on May 2, 2012, completing the world’s only operational 5th Generation fleet.
