Poll: Trump holds 10-point lead in Michigan GOP primary

The Republican presidential candidates come to Detroit to debate Thursday night at the Fox Theatre with businessman Donald Trump maintaining a 10-point lead on his closest competitors in Michigan's March 8 primary in a new poll commissioned by the Free Press and other media outlets.

According to the poll, Trump, who scored key wins in seven of the 11 states making their GOP picks Tuesday and holds a sizeable lead in delegates needed to secure the GOP nomination, remains the presumptive favorite. Some 29% of those surveyed backing him outright, or were leaning toward doing so in next Tuesday’s Republican primary in Michigan, compared to 19% for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and 18% for U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida. The poll, which surveyed 400 likely Republican primary voters Saturday through Monday, has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.

The latest polls show Mr. Trump with a significant lead in Florida, including the recently released Monmouth survey, showing Mr. Trump with 38% support.

Mr. Trump stated, “Lightweight Senator Marco Rubio is a dishonest person. He has cheated with credit cards, and does favors for lobbyists. In my opinion, he is a total crook and I am doing the people of Florida a great favor by further exposing him. In addition to everything else, he is an absentee Senator with one of the worst voting records in the history of the United States Senate, instead preferring to spend his time begging for campaign contributions. He takes his orders from the Republican establishment and Super PACs who are spending millions of dollars to keep their puppet alive and well so he will continue to do what they say. Former Prosecutor and now Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, exposed him on the debate stage for being what he is - a choke artist. We are now going a step further.”

Marco Rubio has violated numerous campaign promises, including on amnesty, betraying every Florida voter. Rubio is well-known in Washington as nothing more than a "yes-man" for his corporate benefactors. A vote for Rubio is a vote to put Rubio’s donors in charge of the country. A close investigation of Senator Rubio’s friends and finances will reveal that he is one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington, D.C.

Trump: Republicans ‘should be unified’

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Sunday that he's been growing the Republican party significantly.
When asked on CBS's "Face the Nation" about what he would say to people leaving the party, however, Trump said he thinks Republicans should come together.

"Well, I think they shouldn't leave," he said. "And I think they should get together, and I think everybody should be unified."

But he emphasized that the party has been "building up numbers that are incredible."

"You've been seeing, whether it's South Carolina or New Hampshire. I mean, the numbers are astronomical," he said.

"And I don't think they've ever seen anything like this, actually."

He continued to tout the party's growth, compared to the Democratic party.

"And by the way, the Democrats are losing. The Democrats are going down 35, 40 percent, and we're going up 50 percent," he said.

"A couple of states over a 100 percent."

Trump dominates GOP race in Florida in latest Fox News Poll

Less than a week until the first winner-take-all Republican primaries, Donald Trump is trouncing Marco Rubio on his home turf of Florida, according to a new Fox News Poll. In the race for the Republican nomination, Trump receives 43 percent among likely Florida GOP primary voters, with Rubio a distant second at 20 percent, and closely followed by Ted Cruz at 16 percent. John Kasich comes in fourth with 10 percent.

A pair of national polls released Monday find Donald Trump holding a double-digit lead over Republican presidential rivals John Kasich and Ted Cruz.

Trump holds a 20-point lead in the CBS News/New York Times poll, with 46 percent support, followed by Cruz at 26 percent and Kasich at 20 percent.

Trump is up 16 points over Cruz in the CNN/ORC International poll, holding at 47 percent followed by Cruz at 31 percent and Kasich at 17 percent.

Poll: Trump jumps out to big lead in California primary

Donald Trump has roared into the lead in the upcoming California Republican primary, bolstering his hopes of winning the GOP nomination and avoiding a nasty convention fight, a new poll has found.

In the first independent survey since it became apparent that the Golden State will play a major role in deciding the Republican presidential nominee, the nonpartisan Public Policy Institute of California found that Trump has the support of 38 percent of likely voters, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is favored by 27 percent. Ohio Gov. John Kasich placed a distant third with 14 percent.

If Congress were to pass legislation making abortion illegal and the federal courts upheld this legislation, or any state were permitted to ban abortion under state and federal law, the doctor or any other person performing this illegal act upon a woman would be held legally responsible, not the woman.
