Sir Paul Judge, who represents the British – Serbian Chamber of Commerce, is with us this year, and that is very important for the development of business cooperation between our two countries. This is also a promotion of Belgrade and Serbia. I hope that this event will bring new business deals for our companies and companies from abroad. I wish all our dear guests to take with them fond memories from this event of business and elegance, and to come back to continue the cooperation with our business people for years to come”.
The 2013 edition of “24 hours of Elegance” was held in conjunction with the British Chamber of Commerce, the British Embassy and the eminent luxury concierge, Quintessentially. This event is dedicated to a number of British luxury brands that are globally recognised for their supreme quality, craftsmanship and detail. The organizer of the event is SuperStar PR Agency from Belgrade.
An exhibition of historic clothing from the archive of the famous house of elegance, Kilgour of Savile Row, under the patronage of HRH Hereditary Prince Peter was displayed at the White Palace. The famous London-based author and historian, James Sherwood, presented his latest book, “The Perfect Gentleman,” (edition of Thames & Hudson), a lavish publication celebrating the essence of men's elegance and tradition of prestigious English tailors. Additionally, another honoured guest this evening was the renowned perfumery house of Penhaligon's, who complimented this sophisticated event with their unforgettable and unique fragrances. Furthermore, guests had the opportunity to view and enjoy a confined collection of Rolls Royce heritage models which were luminously displayed in front of the Royal Palace.
The evening portion of the event included a gala dinner and charity auction at the Royal Palace. Items auctioned included watches from the TAG Heuer collection, Futuro Remote unique jewellery, “Vitale Barberis Canonico” fabrics, two Marketing management scholarships worth 1,200 EUR each for the London School of Commerce (LSC) in Belgrade, limited edition fragrances and photographs, to name a few. All proceedings will benefit projects of the HRH Crown Princess Katherine Humanitarian Foundation in Serbia.
In her address, HRH Crown Princess Katherine spoke about the importance of the family in her life and emphasized how important family support is when there is a sick child or other member of the family involved. She said: “Your family is the most precious thing you have. It stays with you during hard times, happy times, and every day of your life! … Many seek help because a member of the family is ill, their loved ones, a child, a mother… they are often forgotten, marginalised, excluded from society. For almost two decades, my husband and I worked to help those in need in Serbia, regardless of religion or ethnic origin… Tonight we would like to draw your attention to just three problems that many families in Serbia are facing – autism, cancer and child care… What does my foundation, do? We help people to break the vicious circle! We try to help them to help their family!...”
